FastManager Q causing issues with FastManager SMS/PRO database
Article

At the present time (9-2-09) the FastManager Q software application is a completely separate program from the FastManager SMS/PRO version.  When installing the FastManager Q program do NOT point the Q program's DB to your current SMS/PRO database!  Again, the 2 software programs are different and not compatible with each other at this present time.  There are plans to make quotes produced in Q importable into the SMS/PRO version but for the time being this is not possible.

If you are receiving errors in your FastManager SMS/PRO after the installation of FastManager Q it is because you pointed the Q's database to your current SMS/PRO's database and thus now the SMS/PRO version's database changed and will never be able to update itself properly to work with the SMS/PRO version of the software.

In order to fix the issue (it's easy to do) you'll need to follow the following below.  These steps are assuming you were running the 2009.10 version in SMS/PRO.  If you were using an older version than step 6 below will have a different value depending on which version you were running.  Use the ticketing system to let us know what version you were on and we can give you the appropriate value for step 6 if you wre not using 2009.10.

1.) make a copy of your DB.QDB file and paste it to the desktop.

2.) take the original db.qdb file and rename it to db1.qdb
3.) Open Microsoft Access (or other databse utility program).
4.) open this db.qdb file on your desktop. You may have to rename the db.qdb file to db.mdb in order to get Access to recognize it.
5.) on the left side of the screen will be a bunch of tables. Please double click the COMP table.
6.) in that table is a column labeled MINVERSION.  Make sure the number sequence is: 200905 assuming you are on the 2009.10 revision.
7.) exit Access and save changes if asked.

8.) take this db.qdb file (if it was renamed to db.mdb than rename it back to db.qdb) that is on your desktop and cut and paste it back into the original folder you copied it from in step 1 above.
9.) Open up FastManager SMS/PRO and you should be all set now.
